My phone isn’t charging wirelessly. What should I check?Updated an hour ago

Thanks so much for giving PowerBug a try! Follow these steps to solve the most common hiccups:

📱 Remove the case (just for testing!)

Some phone cases can block wireless charging—especially thicker ones, those with metal, or if they aren’t MagSafe-compatible. Give it a try without the case to see if PowerBug springs to life.

🔌 Try a different outlet

We know, we know—this one sounds too simple. But this is truly the most common culprit for PowerBug charging issues: some outlets just don’t give PowerBug the snug fit it needs, especially in older homes or looser wall plates. Try moving to another outlet you trust and see if that makes a difference.

⚠️ Check for any metal/magnetic accessories

Metal cards, pop grips, or magnetic wallets between your phone and PowerBug will interrupt charging. Be sure the charging surface is totally clear.

🌡️ Give PowerBug a moment to cool down

If your phone or the PowerBug feels warm, wireless charging might pause temporarily to protect your device. Once it cools down, try again.

🔄 Make sure your phone’s software is up to date

Some models need the latest iOS updates to reliably use wireless chargers.

If none of the above solves your issue, our Customer Success team in Charleston will be delighted to help!
