Will BookBook fit my non-Apple computer?

Last Updated: Sep 25, 2018 10:26AM EDT

We recommend and support the use of BookBook with the Apple MacBooks.  We can’t comment on the fit on other laptops however, if you measure the outside dimensions of your laptop and compare them with the outside dimensions of the various MacBooks, you can determine if it will fit or not.

MacBook Air (11")                                    11.80 x 7.56 x 0.68 inches (29.97 x 19.20 x 17.3 cm)
MacBook Air (13")                                    12.80 x 8.94 x 0.68 inches (32.51 x 22.71 x 1.73 cm)
MacBook Pro (non-Retina, 13")               12.78 x 8.94 x 0.95 inches (32.46 x 22.71 x 2.41 cm)
MacBook Pro Retina (13")                       12.35 x 8.62 x 0.71 inches (31.37 x 21.90 x 1.80 cm)
MacBook Pro Retina (15")                       14.13 x 9.73 x 0.71 inches (35.89 x 24.71 x 1.80 cm)
MacBook (12-inch)                                   11.04 x 7.74 x 0.52 inches (28.04 x 19.66 x 1.32 cm)
*late-2016 MacBook Pro (13")                  11.97 x 8.36 x 0.59 inches (30.41 x 21.24 x 1.49 cm)
*late-2016 MacBook Pro (15")                  13.75 x 9.48 x 0.61 inches (34.93 x 24.07 x 1.55 cm)

Please note that BookBook is a hardcover case so it is very unforgiving of excess size.  In other words, if your laptop is bigger than the MacBook in any of the three dimensions, it won't fit.  There's just absolutely no 'give' to this case.  And there are no internal restraints in the BookBook so if your laptop is significantly smaller, it may shift around inside the case.

* The late-2016 MacBook Pro is the current model as of the writing of this FAQ (Sept 2018).
